Lynn Coffman – Principal
Lynn Coffman uses her Mid-Western farmgirl roots to help her family, friends and clients get to the heart of the matter and “get ‘er done”. Plain and simple.
Since teaming up with her partner, Michael Valentine, in 2004, she has met people “where they are” and helps them sort through the “busyness, uncertainty and chaos” to create peace of mind and results. Her expertise and focus is at its best during times of great change – from helping her daughter navigate the emotional, medical, and work-ability maze triggered from a rare neurological disorder, to helping corporate clients navigate new positions, new technologies, or abrupt changes in operations.
Lynn has worked across industries, governmental and non-profit agencies. Clients include, individuals changing industries, small 10 person firms and departments in large multi-nationals.
To help her client’s start their journey toward increased effectiveness, she and her partner co-authored Slay the E-mail Monster. The book describes the foundational systems and processes to increase personal productivity and time management. Being better organized and on top of all your competing priorities allows more time to be spent on the difficult work of thinking and creating solutions. Impact is what effectiveness is all about.
Lynn holds a BA from Western Illinois University and is a Certified Facilitator. She has held Senior Chapter Leadership positions in Professional Coaches and Mentors Association (PCMA)and Project Management Institute (PMI)
Michael Valentine – Principal
Michael L. Valentine is a co-founding Principal of Coffman Valentine Group, specializing in providing commonsense solutions to businesses seeking to improve management processes, employee productivity and customer service. Michael worked for 20 years with the International Business Machines Corp (IBM). His IBM background included project management, Marketing support, business accounting, business process analysis, and structured systems analysis.
Michael was previously a Director with the Institute for Business Technology (IBT) USA, an arm of IBT International, the developer and Licensor of the “Personal Efficiency Programs”. He conducted these programs for major corporate clients in the New York metropolitan area, around the country, and was the head of the Southeast region of IBT-USA. For two years, he also managed the Knoxville, TN sub-office for Right Management providing outplacement counseling and services for all levels of personnel from staff to Executives. Currently he is affiliated with the Value-Based Project Management Group (VBPM) as a Practice Lead for Lean for Knowledge Workers. Michael is a Kettering trained facilitator in Public Facilitation. He is certified as a facilitator of the Clarity Process, based on the work of Deming and Marshall Thurber. He is also a Voice/Narrator Talent.
Since moving to CA, he has served on the advisory board of the Center for Public Deliberation, a Kettering Foundation enterprise, and has been a Mentor to Business Majors in the Entrepreneurship program at Cal State Fullerton. Currently he is a member of the Board of the California Chamber Orchestra. Widowed and remarried, he has two sons and two grand-daughters.
